Since forming in 2005 New Cassettes have had a busy time of it. From supporting the Strokes to playing Glastonbury, releasing 3 singles and their debut album 'The Art Of...' in the UK and Japan. As well as having their music featured on hit TV show The Inbetweeners and becoming a Myspace featured artist the band have recently completed a successful Japanese tour.

New Cassettes finished the final mixing of their second album, Winterhead, with Grammy Award-winning songwriter and producer Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne and sound engineer Geoff Sanoff in october 2010. While in the states working on the album the band took a break from the studio to do a special ASCAP-hosted showcase for TV and movie executives at the Gibson Showroom in Los Angeles. The show was a success. MTV became big fans of the New Cassettes after their short stop in Los Angeles and ask them to join the new 'HYPE' venture between MTV and Extreme Music.

Recently New Cassettes returned to the US to perform at the SXSW 2011 Festival in Austin, TX, where they teared up the MTV/ Hype Music stage as well as other select shows and returned to the US in May to perform at a televised MTV Show at The Village Recorder.
